Science

High School Education

Over the past ten years, I have taught high school chemistry as well as held

administrative roles at Blyth-Templeton Academy in Washington DC and The Brooklyn

Latin School in New York City.

As an undergraduate student at Barnard College, I created my own major, Chemical

Physics, and conducted research regarding single molecule conductance at Columbia

University. Then, I received my Master's Degree in Chemistry at Northwestern University, where I researched electron transfer processes in quantum dot systems.

As a high school chemistry teacher, I am able to connect what my students learn in class to larger issues in science, including my own research, and show them the importance of science in everyday life. I believe that seeing the larger picture motivates students to learn the necessary fundamentals and drives them to continue their scientific education.

As a tutor, I meet students where they are and provide step-by-step guidance to help them develop a deep understanding of the material and improve their problem solving skills. Additionally, I strive to create a caring and safe learning environment so that students feel comfortable asking questions and enjoy coming to sessions.
