HwH Hotline does not accept any other form of payments!

 Each HwH Hotline session is 20 minutes long and costs $45.00. All sessions are done through Zoom, a user friendly online platform. Please note, there are no refunds for canceled sessions.

There are no exceptions to this policy!

  Hotline Online Etiquette:

• For optimal virtual learning, we ask that students limit distractions in the room, including cell phones, televisions, pets, and family members. 
• We recommend that students sit at a desk or table to help maintain focus. A structured environment will improve concentration and learning. 
• A laptop or desktop computer is strongly recommended, as smartphones and tablets do not offer the same interactive capabilities. (If a student has an iPad that connects to the computer, it can be a helpful tool for displaying work during the session, especially math.) 
• Students are required to have their cameras on. Virtual learning is most effective when students and teachers are actively engaged and communicating in real time. 
• We strongly discourage the use of virtual backgrounds. Using a clear, distraction- free real background helps students view their work clearly.                                                                                                                                               Incorporating these strategies can significantly enhance the interactivity and effectiveness of your Zoom lessons. Engaged students are more likely to retain information and participate actively.

Requirements to Tutor at Homework Hub:

● To be eligible to teach elementary through high school subjects, teachers must be certified, have at least three years of experience, and hold a master's degree in the subject areas they will be tutoring.

● To teach higher-level classes (Honors, AP, or IB), teachers must be certified and have a master's degree. They must be experts in the curriculum and have at least three years of experience teaching these subjects. (AP and IB courses can only be taught by teachers who have completed the certification program and received official certification.) These courses require significantly more experience and knowledge than teaching Regents or regular-level courses.

● For test prep instruction, tutors must be a certified teacher or professor with a master's degree in a related subject. They must have at least three years of experience teaching the exam. An excellent test prep instructor understands that improving a student's score is not just about teaching the content. Equally important is providing students with strategies, techniques, study skills, and a complete understanding of the exam format and scoring.

● To tutor college courses, tutors must be a certified teacher at the AP or IB level or a college professor. Tutors must have at least a master's degree in the subject area they are teaching and a minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience in that subject.
