College Research 101 Series: How to Make the Most Out of Your College Visit

This workshop offers insights into one of the most important steps in the college application process: Visiting colleges.

Visiting a college offers many benefits. For some schools, it could influence your chances of acceptance. Too often students neglect this opportunity and it results in not knowing enough about the school or worse, being disappointed with a rejection or waitlist letter.

Join John Diehl, one of our college advisors, for an hour-long webinar where participants will learn:

  • How, when, and why to visit colleges
  • What to expect on a visit
  • Tips on meeting with admissions reps
  • How to create your college visit journal

Date: Wednesday, January 10 - Closed

Time: 7:00pm-8:00pm

Cost: COMPLIMENTARY

ABOUT JOHN:

John is a member of the Independent Educational Consultant Association. He brings over twenty years of college counseling experience to The Homework Hub. Finding the best fit is his focus when working with students. To do this takes time and experience. His experience as a school counselor is diverse, having worked with students from many different backgrounds and many varied interests. He understands what students need to do to improve their chances of acceptance at top colleges and universities.

John knows that the college application process is daunting and overwhelming. He has guided students through every step of the way, beginning early in high school when students are forging their high school path, and ending in senior year when students must make the often-difficult decision of which school to attend. Finding the right fit is a process. John works with his students to get a clear understanding of the student’s wants and needs, their potential, and an understanding of the current college admissions milieu. He strives to learn all he can about the students and stays current on admissions trends. He guides students through the steps of the college search, SAT/ACT Prep, the college essay, scholarship searches, FAFSA/CSS Profile, the details of the applications, extracurricular activities, NCAA, connecting with teachers, and the additional actions needed to get that admission offer.
