HwH Academy is a micro school that serves the home school community for students in grades K-12. Our mission is to provide a setting for highly motivated students to reach their academic potential by empowering them with the tools and strategies necessary to become successful learners.



What Is A Micro School?

Micro Schools are a combination between a private school and a homeschool program. This educational approach combines elements of traditional schooling with homeschooling. Unlike the traditional homeschooling setting, HwH Academy offers part time instruction, by New York state certified teachers. Students meet with one another on a regular basis 4 days a week for three hours each day. Our goal is to work as a partnership with families in their child’s educational trajectory. HwH Academy is a micro school program designed to provide students with a highly personalized learning experience.

We started this program in hopes that we can inspire creativity, collaboration, communication skills, and knowledge in all of our students. Our goal is to provide our students with a focused and individualized education that they may not be receiving in today’s educational system. Many students in a large school setting get distracted easily, constantly feel self conscious, may have trouble fitting in, struggle, or excel beyond their peers. These students thrive in small, personalized groups we call learning pods.

Learning pods are small, in-person or online groups of students learning together. They allow students to learn effectively in smaller groups providing them with individualized attention, increased participation, and better communication between the instructors, the students, and the parents.

 Private and small group {3:1} in-person or online instruction is an additional option for families seeking such assistance and is offered Fridays.

Time: Elementary School: 9:00-12:00

Time: Middle School 12:30-3:30

Time: High School 12:30-3:30

Calendar: Homework Hub follows the Half Hollow Hills school calendar.

Ratio: HwH Academy consist of no more than 12 students in a class with a {6:1} student to teacher ratio. Each class consists of a certified teacher an assistant teacher.
