HOMEWORK HUB PRESENTS:

ESSENTIAL COLLEGE APPLICATION WORKSHOP

COMING SOON

Our three-day private or semi-private workshops give motivated students the jump-start they need to dig into their college applications. These workshops are intensive and are geared toward helping students understand the college application process, stay organized, and get a HUGE jump on their Common Application and Common App essay.

What’s Included:

Over the course of three sessions, students will learn the components of the college application so that they are poised to submit their applications in the early fall. They’ll also learn how to develop a game that prioritizes the important steps in the college application process. Rising seniors who take the time over the summer to work through essay writing and some of the other pre-application steps will be far less stressed and in much better shape when the school year begins.

The workshop includes:

  • Overview of the application process
  • Creating a Common App account and completing large sections of the Common App (including the Activities and Academic Honors sections)
  • Instructions for completing supplemental essays, honors college essays and scholarship essays
  • Common App essay drafting and editing. Students will continue working with Linda to complete their essay after the Workshop concludes
  • Instruction on how to develop a realistic and relevant college list

Before the Workshop: Students will have pre-Workshop assignments so that we can make the most of our time together.

After the Workshop: If students would like additional help with their supplemental essays, preparation for admissions/alumni interviews, or any other aspect of college planning, one-on-one sessions are available throughout the summer and into the fall.

Cost: TBD

Session A

Session B

Session C

Each session runs for 3 hours with a 45 min break in the middle for lunch or dinner. The cost of the workshop includes Linda’s time outside of the sessions.

Space is limited to ensure personal attention. Fees are non-refundable but in the event a student must cancel, fees may be applied to hourly consultations at the rate of $160/hour. We reserve the right to cancel any session and offer rescheduled dates if fewer than 2 students enroll.
