HOMEWORK HUB PRESENTS:

Essay And Common Application Bootcamp

Our three-day {3:1} student-to-teacher workshops give students the jump-start they need to dig into their college applications. These workshops are intensive and are geared toward helping students understand the college application process, stay organized, and get a huge jump on their Common Application and Common App essay.

What’s included:

Over the course of three sessions, students will learn the components of the college application so that they are positioned to submit their applications in the early fall. They’ll also learn how to develop a game plan that prioritizes the important steps in the college application process. Rising seniors who take the time over the summer to work through essay writing and some of the other pre-application steps will be far less stressed and in much better shape when the school year begins.

The workshop includes:

  • Overview of the application process
  • Creating a Common App account and completing large sections of the Common App (including the Activities and Academic Honors sections)
  • Instruction on how to develop a realistic and relevant college list
  • Common App essay drafting and editing.

Before the workshop:

Students will have pre-workshop assignments so that we can make the most of our time together.

After the workshop:

If a student has not completed their common app essay, additional time outside of the sessions will be given, if needed. If students would like additional help with their supplemental essays, preparation for admissions/alumni interviews, or any other aspect of college planning, one-on-one sessions are available throughout the summer and into the fall.
