My name is Trish Calandra, and I am a New York State Certified Elementary Teacher and Math Teacher for Grades 7-12. After a rewarding career in education, I am now a retired teacher and tutor with extensive experience working with students of all ages and learning styles.

Throughout my teaching career, I have taught elementary students as both a classroom teacher and math specialist, as well as middle school math and science. At the high school level, I taught mathematics and provided extensive preparation for the New York State Math Regents Examinations.

In addition to my classroom experience, I have prepared students for the SAT and ACT Math sections, as well as private high school entrance examinations.

I believe that every student can learn mathematics when taught in a way that matches their individual needs. I bring patience, encouragement, and a variety of teaching strategies to my tutoring sessions, and I take the time to understand how each student learns best.

My goal is not only to help students improve their skills and succeed academically, but also to build their confidence. I hope to foster a love of math while giving students the strong foundation they need to succeed in higher-level courses and important standardized examinations.
