Not Just Any Learning Pod, It's The Learning Pod
The Learning Pod is a comprehensive, one-stop homeschool solution designed to support families from start to finish. It is a thoughtfully designed educational community where students receive high-quality instruction and personalized guidance, build lasting friendships, and develop the academic and life skills they need to succeed.
Together, Homeschool Hub and My Homeschool Expert™ manage the required paperwork, recordkeeping, curriculum planning, personalized instruction, progress monitoring, and ongoing academic support your family needs—all included in The Learning Pod membership. By bringing administrative guidance, academics, enrichment, and community together in one comprehensive program, families can spend less time navigating the homeschooling process and more time focusing on their child’s learning, growth, and success.
Homeschool Hub provides students with a balanced educational experience by combining direct instruction with project-based learning. This program is designed to complement, not replace, the education families are already providing at home. In addition, families also have the flexibility to customize their child's learning experience by adding optional Supplemental Learning Pods for additional academic intervention, support, or enrichment.
Program Structure For Primary and Intermediate Levels
The Learning Pod for Primary and Intermediate Levels is built around three required Direct Instruction Days and two optional Project-Based Learning Days, allowing students to participate in up to five days of instruction each week. Morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) Supplemental Learning Pods are also available throughout the week for families who wish to extend their child's learning day.
Program Structure For Secondary Level
The Learning Pod for secondary students is built around two required Direct Instruction Days, two optional Direct Instruction Days, and our optional Friday Project-Based Learning Day, allowing students to participate in up to five days of instruction each week. Morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) Supplemental Learning Pods are also available throughout the week for families who wish to extend their child's learning day.
The Learning Pod Program
The Learning Pod follows a thoughtfully designed schedule that runs for three hours and 40 minutes. Depending on the day’s focus, students participate in either direct instruction across multiple subject areas or project-based learning. Each day also includes opportunities for collaboration and independent work, along with supervised snack and lunch breaks. This balanced schedule supports focused learning, positive peer relationships, and steady progress within a structured and encouraging learning environment.
(Required) Direct Instruction Days focus on building a strong foundation in core academic subjects through explicit teacher-led instruction. Students receive instruction from certified, experienced teachers in mathematics, English language arts, science, and social studies. Lessons include guided instruction, collaborative activities, independent practice, and ongoing assessment to ensure students master essential academic concepts while building confidence and strong learning habits.
(Optional) Project-Based Learning Days allow students to apply what they have learned through engaging, interdisciplinary projects and investigations that connect multiple subject areas. These experiences help students develop a deeper understanding of important concepts while making learning engaging, relevant, and memorable. Project-Based Learning provides students with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that encourage collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, communication, research, presentation, time management, and real-world problem-solving skills. The program also includes one field trip each month, giving students opportunities to explore, discover, and connect classroom learning with the world around them.
Project-based learning is where classroom learning comes to life. Rather than learning subjects in isolation, students explore meaningful themes that integrate reading, writing, science, mathematics, social studies, technology, engineering, art, and life skills. Project-Based Learning helps students learn not only what to think, but how to think.
(Optional) AM/PM Supplemental Learning Pods
Students may also extend their learning day and enhance their learning experience by enrolling in optional morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) learning pods. These supplemental pods provide students with additional opportunities for targeted academic support and enrichment. Families may choose from 3:1 Core Academic Support, 3:1 Intervention Services, and/or 12:1 Enrichment Classes. Each allows for your student's educational experience to be personalized based on their individual needs, interests, and learning goals — while giving families the flexibility to customize their child's schedule. AM Pods begin at 7:30 am and PM Pods begin at 1:10 pm.
In addition to our Supplemental Learning Pods, private tutoring is available throughout the year. Families may schedule one-on-one sessions in any subject area to provide targeted academic support.

*Please note: students are thoughtfully placed in Primary, Intermediate, or Secondary levels according to their academic readiness and individual instructional needs and not on age alone.
What Sets The Learning Pod Apart
Homeschool Hub uses a thematic learning approach that connects concepts across multiple disciplines. Students explore how mathematics, science, literature, history, technology, and the arts intersect and apply to the real world.
By studying topics through an integrated lens, students discover meaningful connections between ideas, making learning more engaging, relevant, and accessible.
At Homeschool Hub, every student is known, supported, and valued as an individual. We provide attentive guidance tailored to each student’s educational needs, pace, strengths, and interests. Through encouragement, meaningful feedback, and consistent support, we help students build confidence and take ownership of their learning.
Beyond academics, Homeschool Hub helps students develop the curiosity, resilience, organization, and critical-thinking skills they will carry for a lifetime, not just to their next assignment.
A Learning Model Designed For Success
Each Learning Pod consists of 3 to 12 students from multiple households. Students are placed in one of three divisions based on age and academic level: Primary, Intermediate, or Secondary.
During instructional periods, each student receives instruction in the setting best suited to their individual needs. This may include a one-on-one session, a small group with a maximum of three students per teacher, or a slightly larger small group with a maximum of six students per teacher.
Within each division, instructional placement is based on the student’s academic level, learning style, and support needs rather than age alone. This allows teachers to provide appropriately paced instruction and personalized support while fostering meaningful collaboration, socialization, and peer learning within the larger Learning Pod community.
How Membership Works
The Learning Pod is a membership-based program designed to provide homeschool families with the consistency, flexibility, and support needed for a successful learning experience. Rather than enrolling in individual classes, families can become members of a collaborative learning community.
Whether your child attends the Direct Instruction days, adds the optional Project-Based Learning days, or takes advantage of our AM/PM Supplemental Learning Pods, Homework Hub offers flexible learning opportunities designed to meet your family's needs.

ADMISSIONS & PROGRAM FIT
Homework Hub's Learning Pod is intentionally designed as a small, collaborative educational community. To preserve the quality of instruction and ensure a positive experience for all students, admission is based on overall program fit rather than first-come, first-served enrollment.
Our admissions process helps us determine whether the Learning Pod is the appropriate educational environment for each student and may include:
• Parent Interview
• Student Interview and/or Classroom Observation
• Review of Educational Records
• Informal Academic Placement
• Review of Learning Supports, When Applicable
• Two Letters of Recommendation, When Requested
• 30-Day Introductory Enrollment Period
Because class sizes are intentionally kept small, enrollment is limited and admission is selective. While we welcome students with a wide variety of learning profiles, not every applicant will be the right fit for the Learning Pod. If we believe another Homework Hub program, or another educational setting, would better meet a student's needs, we will discuss those recommendations with the family.
Our goal is not simply to fill seats. Our goal is to build a supportive learning community where every student has the opportunity to learn, contribute, and thrive.
