Mr. DiPalo brings more than 25 years of classroom experience, with a strong background in special education and general education. He currently teaches math and science to middle school students. Throughout his career, he has helped students struggling academically, organizationally, and emotionally regain confidence and recognize their abilities to succeed.

Mr. DiPalo takes a strength-based approach to working with students. He looks beyond academic performance to identify each student’s individual strengths, learning style, challenges, and areas of need. By understanding strengths and where a student may be struggling, he develops targeted strategies to address specific executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, planning, task initiation, prioritization, working memory, and follow-through.

His extensive experience in special education has provided him with the ability to recognize when a student’s difficulties are not simply a matter of effort, but may stem from challenges with processing, attention, self-advocacy, or other executive functioning skills. He works with students to break larger tasks into manageable steps, establish effective routines, develop practical strategies, and build independence.

Most importantly, Mr. DiPalo believes that confidence is a critical part of learning. His goal is to help students understand their strengths, address their challenges, and develop the skills and confidence necessary to become more successful and independent learners.
