HwH Academy is a micro school that serves the homeschool community and other student populations for grades 8th through 12th.  Our mission is to provide a setting for highly motivated students to reach their academic potential by empowering them with the tools and strategies necessary to become successful learners.

What Is A Micro School?

A Micro Schools is a combination between a private school and a homeschool program. This educational approach combines elements of traditional schooling with the flexibility of homeschooling. HwH Academy is a micro-school program designed to provide students with a highly personalized learning experience.

Unlike the traditional homeschooling setting, HwH Academy offers part-time instruction, by New York state-certified teachers. Students meet regularly, 5 days a week for three hours each day, creating a structured yet flexible environment that supports both academic growth and social development. Our goal is to work as a partnership with families in their child’s educational trajectory.

There are many students who are highly involved in sports, the arts. and more. They may spend a great deal of time in specific programs that don't allow for a full school day. Our am and pm schedules may be the perfect fit for these situations.

HwH Academy provides our students with a focused and individualized education. Many students in a large school setting get distracted easily, often feel self-conscious, may have trouble fitting in, struggle, or excel beyond their peers. These students thrive in small, personalized groups we call learning pods.

Our learning pods are small, no more than 12 students per class, with a {6:1} student to teacher ratio. They allow students to learn effectively in smaller groups providing them with individualized attention, increased participation, and better communication between the instructors, the students, and the parents.

 Private instruction and small group electives are offered as an additional option for families seeking such assistance .

Classes Run: Monday - Thursday 

Private and Small Group Instruction  {3:1}: Friday

Time: Elementary School: 9:00-12:00

Time: Middle School 12:30-3:30

Time: High School 12:30-3:30

Calendar: Homework Hub follows the Half Hollow Hills school calendar.

Ratio:  HwH Academy consists of no more than 12 students in a class with a {6:1} student-to-teacher ratio. Each class consists of a certified teacher and an assistant teacher.
